Obama vs. Romney, the race continues....

On Saturday September 21, 2012 The New York Times published an article about President Obama responding to recent comments made by running presidential opponent Mitt Romney. Obama stated that "his presidency had always been about mobilizing outside voices to alter the direction of the country." Romney recently stated that he would "get the job done from the inside." Obama asked his audience what kind of inside job Romney is talking about and that we dont want it. Obama also spoke about one of the campaign's largest topics of Medicare. Obama stated that Romney spoke of raising the cost of medical care and that it would only benefit the insurance companies and not the wealthy. Obama stated that Romney's plan would encourage approximately 40% of doctors to leave the Medicare program, resulting in the raised costs for the elderly. Romney's plan was to also increase the cost of social security taxes in order to decrease the cost of taxes for the wealthy. This statement is interesting finding that most of Romney's supporters come from the wealthy. I feel this article would give a good plan for someone who is voting and debating on which candidate to choose. It also gives a good picture of how each candidate responds to the attacks made against them and how they attempt to turn the statements from negative to positive.
